Differences between Wales and Scotland. 1) Meals: Wales Typical dishes: Cawl (a lamb or beef stew with vegetables), bara brith (a bread with nuts), Welsh rarebit (a toast with melted cheese and beer), faggots (minced meatballs wrapped in bacon). Common ingredients: Lamb, beef, cheese, root vegetables, seafood. Influences: English, Irish cuisine. Scotland: Typical dishes: haggis (a mixture of sheep offal with spices and oatmeal), Cullen skink (a smoked soup with potatoes and leeks), stovies (a meat and potato stew), Scotch pie (a savory meat pie). Common ingredients: lamb, mutton, sheep, fish, potatoes, oatmeal. Influences: English, Nordic, French cuisine. 2) Drinks: Wales: National drink: Bara brith (a bread with dried fruits).
